The Wests Slow Descent into Totalitarianism In the Name of Defeating Extremism

Voices against the establishment are being continuously harassed, physically attacked, intimidated, deplatformed, and banned from defending themselves or moving freely. Does that seem like the sort of tactics employed by well meaning liberal centrists, or the tactics used by hard line totalitarians masquerading as the same?
